CHAPTER 3: BASIC EDITING ■
Clip Menu
The Clip menu is a versatile tool (see Figure 3.39). Although it doesn’t exactly look like
a menu, it is. First, let’s make sure that the selected toolset is Source/Record Editing.
Now you should see two monitors displayed: the Record and Source monitors. Look
above each monitor. The name of the sequence (Record monitor) and clip (Source
monitor) should be displayed. Because you probably have not built a sequence yet,
we’ll focus on the Source monitor. Load a clip in the Source monitor so you can see the
name above it. Now click the name, and voilà! You have additional functions: Clear
Monitor, Clear Menu, and Duplicate.
Figure 3.39 Clip menu
The Clear Monitor function allows you to clear the display monitor for Source
and Record screens. The Clip menu will display the last 20 clips or sequences loaded
into each monitor. To clear out the list of clips and sequences, choose Clear Menu.
Duplicate will duplicate the clip or sequence currently displayed. This function places
the duplicated clip or sequence in the same bin as its original.
